Summary: Explored methods of improving directivity for applications in wireless charging through the use of phased antenna arrays.

Pipeline:

  1. Researched current methods for wireless charging such as Induction charging, ultrasonic charging and Radio Frequency (RF) / Microwave charging.
  2. Isolated RF / Microwave charging to be most practical for fully hands free unbounded charging.
  3. Researched current methods for focusing antenna directivity to maximize power transfer over specific cross sections.
  4. Created conceptual CAD model for a possible antenna array utilizing phase shift to better focus antenna array radiation pattern.ArrayIsoView.jpg
  5. Calculated theoretical radiation patterns for conceptual model using MatLab to visualize improvements in beam steering and directivity.AF2Dneg5iso copy
